Obama Approves New Obama Caddis Pupa

President Obama Inspects The Obama Caddis Pupa Fly

Yes, it's true. President Barack Obama in his first day in office gave his hearty approval of the new Obama Caddis Pupa Fly. The new fly, a variation on an obscure green pupa pattern, was dedicated by tier Paul S. of DS Fly Fishing to President Barack Obama to commemorate his historic inauguration. Upon Inspection, President Obama, took a long pause and then, with tears in his eyes, simply said, "Wow."

Paul S. never thought that President Obama would actually choose his fly to be the official fly of the white house for the "Yes We Can" administration, but, as it turns out, his was the only one submitted.

When asked why he submitted this particular fly, Paul S. replied, "That's easy. The Pupa is that time in the life of a Caddis when it swims to the surface and emerges from its nymphal sack to spread its wings and fly away. I figured, you just can't make it any more appropriate than that. I just knew President Obama would appreciate my pupa. I just needed to figure out where to go from there. I put a lot of thought into it and decided that whichever way I went, I knew It was going to have to shine."

"I made my own mix of Green and Chartreuse Antron yarn to get just the right shade of dubbing." he added, "But the real difference is the Fire Star mylar dubbing. Man, that stuff is so bright you can direct traffic with it. Bright is the key word... just like our new president. Green was the color... just like our new president. This fly has never been tested. Just like our new President. I'll tell you one thing. Whenever I look at this fly, I just know its going to catch fish. I can't help but be filled with hope.... "
