Paul and I are going fly fishing this weekend. Hopefully the weather will be nice and our lines tight.

Anybody have any hots spots they want to share in the upper owens valley?

Try the lower power plant about 9 miles North of Bishop on the Owens River. Turn right just as you go up the hill, then turn right again. The fish are stockers but they are packed there. I lost count of the fish I caught there last weekend. BWO's and zebra midges worked pretty good but had the largest hookups using a wooley bugger.
Going back next weekend!!!

Thanks for the tip.

Funny thing is that's where I normally fish anyway.

Friday had really bad weather, high winds and really cold.

I thought the weekend was going to be a bust, but Saturday and Sunday were great.

I caught 5 rainbow trout and Paul caught 3 on Saturday.

Paul went fishing on Sunday around the campgrounds below the reservoir and caught another 10 rainbow trout.

They were small, nothing to brag about, but still fun.

Well, the weather was nice and it brought out the bait chuckers near the power plant. Little black tiger midges and hare's ear brought a couple to net, but really it was so crowded. Mike headed back early on Sunday and I decided to try the lower O - I didn't run into another person fishing. I caught a bunch with hares ear and caddis pupae. check out this beauty of a brown.
