Well, they may not be trophy trout, but literally minutes from the urban sprawl that is Los Angeles there is some amazing scenery and some beautiful fish. It was November the last time I got to do any fly fishing and my soul was aching. The fly fishing casting clinic I attended over the last several weekends just helped add to the longing. I talked to some folks with the same fly fishing addiction as me and decided I needed to grab my gear and hit some local water. |

So, when I was at the Fly show a couple of weeks back, I got to meet Steve Ebersold who is the Education Chairman for Sierra Pacific Flyfishers. In honor of the man that nurtured the love of fishing in my family, I felt it only right to start this post with a shout out to my Grandfather who turned 98 yesterday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRAMPA!!! I'm pretty sure this picture is from the early 50's. The marlin were definitely biting that day in Mazatlan. My Grandfather would sometimes hang around with some unsavory fellows. |
