As you can tell from some of my posts and pictures, I love fly fishing in the winter. With today's technology in waders and clothing, I can be standing waist deep in the water with air temps below 20° and, except for a little finger/toe numbness, be pretty damn toasty. |

 Yes, it's true. President Barack Obama in his first day in office gave his hearty approval of the new Obama Caddis Pupa Fly. The new fly, a variation on an obscure green pupa pattern, was dedicated by tier Paul S. of DS Fly Fishing to President Barack Obama to commemorate his historic inauguration. Upon Inspection, President Obama, took a long pause and then, with tears in his eyes, simply said, "Wow." |

Well, I have to say, I've been enjoying the Southern California Winter weather. It has been wetter and colder than normal. God knows we need it too. Between global warming and global economic meltdown, it seems like we better get in our last few breaths before Armageddon. So, when it gets below 40 degrees in my neck of the woods, I bust out the scarves and wool hats and revel in it.
