As you can tell from some of my posts and pictures, I love fly fishing in the winter. With today's technology in waders and clothing, I can be standing waist deep in the water with air temps below 20° and, except for a little finger/toe numbness, be pretty damn toasty.
I have not been able to hit the water since Thanksgiving, and the way it's looking, my mid February trip might have to be postponed. I wish I lived closer to the water. I love the bite in the air. I love the fact that I rarely see another soul, especially on waters that are jam packed during the normal season. I don't mind having to clear my guides of ice. That just reminds me of how bad ass I am. True, the colder it is, the more challenging the fishing is. In my book, the beauty and solitude more than make up for it. So, I was catching up on some of my reading today and came across a link to some pretty spectacular photography from Louis Cahill. These shots say exactly what I'm talking about.
Thanks Louis. These are just what I needed on a lazy, football-less and fish-less Sunday
