I was blindfolded so I can't really say how to get there, but I will say it was a pretty spectacular Saturday. We pulled up streamside just after nine and the only other truck we saw there decided to take off. Hmmm, now I wonder what they were up to. Ray was suited up and had his rod put together before I even opened my door, so as I started getting my act together he proceeded to pull out a beauty of a brown that had to be over 10 inches. Not bad for our local So. Cal. Mountain streams.
We ended the day at In-N-Out before I made the drive back. All that boulder hopping led to the best night's sleep in weeks. Thanks again Ray.

About a week back a friend of mine who had promised to take me fly fishing and show me some of our local waters finally had a day off. Note to self - send thank you card to Ray's wife. Anyway, I did the long haul to meet him at the base of the mountains by 8 am and he drove the rest of the way.
Within a half hour Ray went upstream of me and I didn't see him until I got back to the car at 6pm. It seems I took the long way around. I hiked a good mile over boulders looking for him before I gave up and started fishing. There was a good couple of miles that went from plunge pool, riffle, run, and repeat. There were some real tiny ones, but I did catch a few in the 9-10 inch range. No hogs, but the solitude was spectacular.
